Customize this 2 sample executive secretary resumes to build an effective and optimised resume for your executive secretary application. As with any resume: make sure to stipulate your abilities and skills efficiently throughout your letter.

Don’t forget to edit the sample executive secretary resumes as:

per your requirements for

your job application.

The best way to find out what the firm needs is:

research the firm on the Internet

would you happen to know anybody in the firm already

would you happen to have friends who have friends who work or worked in that firm

does the firm get the newspapers, and if so, why and how?

call the firm for more information about their activities and application and if the call goes well, make a reference to it in your resume. People who are "familiar" always have a small advantage on the unanimous crowd

Write your job application in Times New Roman or since all other applicants will do the same: stand out and change your font to Arial.

Unlike the girl with secretary glasses picture above (Executive Secretary by JulianRod): make sure you don’t give any hint of being a smoker. Smart human resource managers know that smokers will have:

more health issues than non smokers

need lots of time of during the day to smoke their cigarette

Be a bit creative in using the 2 resumes below!

Goal settings for executive secretary

A resume is all about showing that you are the right person for the job. But what is an executive secretary in the first place?

Traditionally a secretary was noting down things. But since word processing has taken the biggest part of that task, secretaries now have lots of time on their hands. Unfortunately this time will be overly stuffed with one or all of the following extra executive secretary duties:

managing budgets and doing

bookkeeping

maintaining websites

my favourite: making travel arrangements!

prepare and arrange meetings and events

human relation tasks (helping out in hiring people, checking applicants background, salary flow)

Summarized: an executive secretary should:

have a broad level of skills and

be creative in managing new situations.

Candidates with good language and communication skills and a 4 year degree often are what serious companies are looking for. You can get an executive secretary degree when you follow a 6 months so called re-education program conducted for 4 year degree holders.

If you want to look stylish, intelligent and sexy: get yourself some "secretary glasses". That’s how I call them and when it comes to dating men, I am equally successful as my friends who wear contact lenses.

Not that I have another choice…

My eyes are cylindrical, meaning: they look like a rugby ball. Buying discount contact lenses is not an option.

I need special contact lenses that adjust themselves. This kind of contact lens solution sounds more high-tech than it is though.

Unlike disposable contact lenses, my lenses will have an extra weight at the bottom. With each flicker of my eyes, the lens will adjust itself again.

Vain as I am, I did try out these contacts but… in vain

My eyes got way too tired of always having to adjust to the lens changing position. And I am wearing computer glasses anyway when in the office.

The positive part is : I can still wear coloured contact lenses, as long as I keep my secretary glasses on

How to choose glasses?

You need to go for the 4 "S"

Size, Shape, Shade and Style

You could just go for favorite designer glasses, but did you know there are glasses for every size of face? If you go to a good optician, they will have different sizes of the same model: your face doesn’t have to fit the glasses, the glasses will fit your face!

With shape we mean the shape of your face. Always take your face as a starting reference and find the right glasses for it.

long face
Carry Bradshaw

round face
Drew Barrymore

triangular face
Kate Hudson’s forehead is the narrowest part

for long and oblong shaped faces: choose glasses with wide frames and curved edges, to balance out your face’s length

for round faces like mine: choose glasses with straight top and bottom frames. Especially avoid square and round frames as they make your face even look rounder.

for triangular faces: choose glasses with curved rims

Our next S is "Shade" : according to your colour type you choose the colour of your glasses.

"Warm" shade people have a yellow tinge to their skin and their hair is either black, honey blonde or red. An Asian girl like me is a warm type. The following color glasses will suit warm types: gold (my favorite!), copper, tortoise, khaki, camel and cream.

"Cool" shade people have a blue or pink cast to their skin and their hair is either brown, white blonde or white. The following color glasses will suit cool types: blue, black, plum, rose brown, jade and magenta.

Our last S stands for Style. My favorite style of course is the sexy secretary look : a pair of thick framed glasses. But of course it all depends on what kind of look you are going for:

if you go for glamour, choose Jackie O style glasses

if you choose for quirkiness and individuality, go for John Lennon glasses suggest .

The best way to decide which style you like is to go to an optician and try different pairs on. Make sure your optician has all the time in the world, go shopping with your girlfriend and do ask advice on all the salespeople in the shop (they should more or less all agree that the glasses you are choosing suits you well).

So next time you buy sexy secretary glasses:
don’t forget Size, Shape, Shade and Style!
